6th grade Math students designed tiny houses using perimeter and area. Then they used their blueprints and constructed 3D models of their houses. When finished, students had to calculate the area and perimeter of the furniture, walls, roof, and yard. Students said the hardest part was fitting all the required furniture and appliances in to such a small floor space while still maintaining walk ways and not covering doorways.
